Siem Reap, Cambodia (Banteay Samre)

While on the way back from Banteay Srey we stopped by Banteay Samre. Thought it would be another ordinary temple but NO it's not!!!  

This temple is relatively small too as it doesn't required much walking. We sat somewhere exploring  the temple by our eyes

Compared to Banteay Kdei or Angkor Wat the  'Naga' are located outside of the structure but not here. The 'Naga' are located in the temple itself.

Hahaz almost every temples we visited are the same so we decided to have a long 37km ride to the outskirts of Siem Reap town. I find the ride is quite rewarding as we need to passby some villages and I get to know roughly how agricultural activities supported them. They plant mostly we planted in Malaysia; the tropical fruits~ Buffaloes are seen roaming freely at the dried paddy fields.

After 1hour sight of the countryside finally we are here and I've noticed there is smtg quite different from the rest!

The door and the structure of the buildings are in a much smaller sizes!

When I told Soyoung maybe the King or the God might be in a shorter size that's why everything is smaller she laughed. No offense but it was just merely a joke after a long ride in the hot weather. Her laughter makes me happy too.

What really catches my eyes is the statue and the craftsmanship on the stones!!!

It fills every spaces of the stone~

And the materials used are red sandstone.

Pre Rup another place for sunset which has a lesser number of people. Found a spot at the corner for Mr.Sunset!

Hahaz~The way Soyoung anticipating the sunset is so serious O.O!

Meanwhile I thought the way of turning the bottle water cap can determined whether you are a right handed or left handed as my companion is so confident that the bottle is mine just to found out that she knew it because her cap is still attached to her bottle and mine is NOT. 

EMBARRASSING enough because I test turning the cap with my left hand and right~ X.X

Siem Reap,Cambodia (Angkor Wat)

Most people will probably answer you "Angkor Wat" when you asked them what do you know about Cambodia. Second answer would probably Pol Pot but not let's get into the mood of the political war.

Angkor Wat is the most famous spot for sunrise! As early as 5am Cambodian timing, tourist already flocking and most already blocking and squatting at the best spot for the view of the sunrise and the temple. I never seen such a number of people at a scenic view before. Feels like I'm camping for Apple's latest product! If you have the time do come back for sunset where there is less crowded.

Siem Reap,Cambodia (Ta Prohm)

If you have only a day in Siem Reap or just wanna see smtg different Ta Prohm is one of the temple you should visit. It became more famous after one of the scene in Tomb Raider was film here. Most of the temples here are more or less the same.

One of the carving you probably will notice is Apsara the dancers back then

Away from the crowd there are more ruins to be discovered

Silk cotton trees can only be seen in this temple and no where else!

Finally we are here on Valentine...I dont see any roses selling here..
Weather is like 34degree Celcius? Hot hot hot~
Our first day here we just hang around. Walking around identifying roads. Siem Reap is a small town. It's HARD to get lost. If you did I'm surely impressed! Hahaha...and YA Remember to pick up a free tourist guide book in your hotel!!!Everything you need it's there!

Our officially first day of temple and palace tour is on the 15th Feb~ Hired a tuk-tuk driver for around USD30 for 2days? I dont really remember how much... THe driver will bring you around to the places you want to visit. My best advice is to get an older tuk-tuk so he wont charged you that much and certainly bargain as much as you can or if you love cycling why not spending the whole day cycling to one place to another. You will need more than 3 days allocate for 6-8hours/day. The park is HUGE!!!!

You might play hide and seek and not be found for the whole week!!!

To enter the park with all  the sightseeing you first will get a ticket either is a one day ticket,3 days ticket or 7 days ticket! You will pass by a bridge that gives you a sense of ancient treasure raider....XD

Our first stop is Bayon. Me and Soyoung WOW for non-stop of its beautifully structured temple~

We spent 2hours to explore every corner of the temple

 I'm happy she is willing to wait for me to get my best shot~

Alright...

To kick off my first post in 2013 let's explore Siem Reap~
Did I tell you my companion is a Korean!!! No?Yeah? So basically two Asians met in SouthEast Asia (Bangkok) last May ended up in a reunion trip in another SouthEast Asia's country (Cambodia) this February...Well I seriously miss her a lot since our farewell at BTS. The memory is quite vivid still of me losing the sight of her going up the escalator.

I couldn't believe that she actually skipped Lunar New Year celebration and her graduation just for the trip...I think she is very COOL 'hou yeng arh' !!!  Give me a Like please!

I made her waited for 1hour as me,May and Kumutha were celebrating Chinese New Year at Poh Guan's house earlier. Haizz I feel so sorry when I saw her sitting on the ground below the telephone booth at the airport in the middle of the night! =(

Later on thanks to May we are heading back to May's place for a hot bath and before that we went to yumcha with Sam and I realized how thirsty and hungry she was~ZZz I should had brought extra water... I'm not considerate at all.

SO

To make up with my regrets I promise myself I'm going to be more particular throughout the trip.
